Due to the various climate conditions in Iran,
different types of apples have been grown along the country. The main provinces which are producing apple are Azerbaijan, Isfahan, Khorasan and Tehran.
As every region has its special weather and soil texture, Iranian apples have various characteristic like Shelf Life, firmness, color, taste and perfume. Despite ShafiAbadi and Shemrooni species which are grown domestically, the famous and popular varieties such as Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Gala and Red Delicious are grown in Iran.
Average diameter of each Iran apple is about 65 mm. The color of the skin is red, green or golden (yellowish), inside color is yellow or white and the taste of apples is sweet or sour.
Main Production Areas are Alborz, khorasan, Tehran, Fars, Azarbaijan and Isfahan Provinces.
